Making a viral kidnapping joke gets an influencer mother in jail
Katie Sorensen, the California mother and social media influencer behind a viral seizing scam has been sentenced to imprisonment. The Influencer was sentenced to 90 days in prison on Thursday of which she may serve 60 days as part of a release program, according to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office.
The influencer has also been given a 12-month suspended sentence during which time he will be banned from social media and will be searched and seized without a warrant including electronic devices. The Influencer also has to complete a four-hour implicit bias training course and pay multiple fines.
The self-proclaimed influencer mom went on to say that the couple gave her creeps and “were untidy people”
The Influencer said she didn’t tell the couple because she was “paralyzed with fear”. She further alleged that they followed her out of the store to her car and lingered by the stroller while she put the baby in the car.
The influencer said in the video that the couple left after screaming for help. The couple denied the influencer’s claims and told Petaluma Argus-Courier they were at Michaels to buy Christmas decorations. They say they believe Influencer’s false claims are racist.
