Authorities said nurse Heather Presdee had poisoned three patients with insulin, killing two.
Enough dose of insulin to put the patient into misery
Pennsylvania officials said a nurse was suspected of administering lethal doses of insulin to three patients, causing two deaths and claiming that she did so on purpose because she wanted to end their suffering. She claimed she had been asked to kill a 73-year-old patient.
“Disciplinary action for patient or staff abuse”
Investigators said she had been fired or resigned from various facilities as a result of “long-term punishment for abusive behavior towards patients and/or staff” since 2018. The three incidents occurred while she worked for Chicora’s Quality Life Services.
While she allegedly pledged her goodwill, officials emphasized Presdie’s precarious employment history. Presdee was hired as Assistant Director of Care at Quality Life where she worked from May 23 to November 28, according to investigative sources. She was also named Interim Director of Care although her other positions remained in place.
