Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the death of a 6-year-old boy who was playing with his uncle and 7-year-old cousin in the backyard of a house in Kansas about two weeks after he was shot.
A 20-year-old and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on Tuesday night after they got off a Greyhound bus
Lakevis Sloane, 20, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested Tuesday night after they exited a Greyhound bus in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, police said. Awaiting extradition, they were charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 6-year-old Sir Antonio Brown on May 3. Sloane is also charged with aggravated endangerment of children, according to the indictment. “This arrest doesn’t ease the pain, but it does provide some solace,” said godmother Sineisha Hill.
Meanwhile, police used the arrest to ask for help in the search for an unidentified third suspect.
Detective Mark Bundy said: “Please don’t wait any longer. Anyone harboring or covering up for this child killer will be arrested.”
The suspects came to Kansas City with the intention of assaulting someone
Police previously said the suspects had come to the Kansas City neighborhood to assault someone but gave no further details. A spokeswoman for the Wyandot County Attorney’s Office said it wasn’t known if there was an attorney. She said the shooting happened while her own son, Kwamain Frazier, was playing in his backyard with Sir Antonio, who was called Sir by his family. The children lived across the street and went to the same school. When I got off the bus, I changed clothes and jumped out to play.
