Man Opens Fire Inside a Convenience Store in Detroit, Injures 2 While Fatally Kills 1 Person

A man was accused of shooting inside a convenience store after the clerk locked the door for not paying an item worth $3.

Man Open Fires Inside a Convenience Store

The Detroit Police authorities identified the gunman, who opened fire inside a convenience store, as Samuel McCray, 27 years old. The shooting incident happened at the Mobil Gas Station located at 12800 W. McNichols on May 6 around 3:00 a.m.

In a published article in TRUE CRIME DAILY, McCray started opening fire after the clerk locked the door of the store for not paying for an item worth $3. The suspect then fled from the crime scene in a White Ford Expedition. The Detroit Police immediately offered a reward money of $1,000 to capture the gunman.

He was then located and arrested by the Detroit Police authorities. Meanwhile, a bond was denied for McCray for his temporary release.

Gunman was Charged With Multiple Cases

The shooting incident inside the convenience store injured 2 persons while fatally killing 1. According to a report published in CBS News, the victims were identified as David Langston and his best friend, Gregory Karlos Samuel Fortner-Kelly. It was found during the investigation that Langston told the McCray “Do not shoot,” while Fortner-Kelly asked the clerk to open the door to ease the tension.

McCray is now facing the following charges:

• first-degree premeditated murder
• two counts of assault with intent to murder
• three counts of felony firearm
• one count of possessing a firearm as a felon

Furthermore, McCray pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against him. Fortner-Kelly was later pronounced dead.
