On January 30, Alana Sims, 22, was reportedly shot to death in Easton Park, a New Tampa subdivision. The Tampa Police Department stated that they discovered Sims’s dead body next to her parked SUV. Inside the SUV, the authorities found Sims’s toddler son unharmed and sleeping in a car seat. Unfortunately, Sims was also five months pregnant and was turning 23 today, February 13, when she was killed.

According to an article on Yahoo News, a Florida rapper by the name of “Ace NH” was accused of killing Sims. Ace NH, whose real name was Billy Bennett Adams III, 25, and Sims reportedly knew each other. However, when the Tampa Police arrested the Florida rapper on February 8, he claimed he had only shot Sims in self-defense when she pulled a gun on him. He stated he had accidentally shot Sims when they both wrestled for the weapon. Nonetheless, the Florida rapper faced charges of killing an unborn child by injury to mother and first-degree murder.

Not An Isolated Case

According to Eberhart, three days before Sims’s killing, on January 27, a jury in Hillsborough County reportedly found the Florida rapper acted in self-defense as well. This incident was when he reportedly shot to death the victims Daniel Thompson and Trevon Albury at a recording studio in November 2020. However, only three days after he was acquitted of the double murder trial, the Florida rapper was accused of killing Sims as well. Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw states that they are now collaborating with the State Attorney’s Office to guarantee that the Florida rapper will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
