Fugitive from Oklahoma captured in Athens

Henderson County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended a fugitive from South Central Oklahoma on Monday. The fugitive, Clovis Reeves, had outstanding warrants issued by the Hughes County Oklahoma Sheriff’s Office.

These warrants were related to charges of possession of a controlled substance and attempting to elude a peace officer while armed with a dangerous weapon, as reported by our news partner, KETK.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Patrick Johnson received a tip that Reeves, who was wanted in Oklahoma, was hiding in the Wagon Tree subdivision in Athens.

Acting on this information, Johnson located Reeves’ white Ford F350 flatbed pickup which was found abandoned in a ditch near a residence on Buggy Hub Trail.

Johnson apprehended Reeves at the house and took him into custody for the outstanding arrest warrant from Oklahoma.

Additionally, Reeves was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Currently, Reeves is awaiting arraignment at the Henderson County Jail.
