A man from Dundee is facing multiple charges after leading police on a chase that ended in a crash.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Jonathan R. Webb was initially stopped in the Town of Starkey around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday night. Deputies were speaking with Webb regarding a separate incident when he suddenly drove off at a high speed without his headlights on.
Deputies attempted to stop Webb again, but he continued fleeing, eventually crashing his vehicle on State Route 14 after a pursuit through Dundee. The Sheriff’s Office reported that Webb was injured and treated by deputies at the scene before being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Webb now faces several charges, including unlawful fleeing of a police officer, reckless driving, speeding, and unlicensed operation. He was issued an appearance ticket for a future court date.
