Firefighter sustains injuries during response to fire in vicinity of Augusta


A firefighter sustained injuries while extinguishing a significant house fire in the southwest area of Augusta on Friday morning, according to the latest update at 10 a.m.

A minor injury was sustained by the firefighter when a portion of the ceiling collapsed on him, as reported by the Augusta Fire Department. Fortunately, he received immediate treatment at the scene.

The fire investigation is still ongoing, but thankfully, no one else sustained any injuries. However, the second-story of the house suffered considerable damage as a result of the fire.

Firefighters are currently responding to a building fire near Augusta in Butler County on Friday morning.

Firefighters from the Augusta Fire Department are currently engaged in combatting a fire at a structure located in the 10800 block of Ashley Road, in the southwest of Augusta.
