According to Calhoun County deputies, Goynes came under investigation when she allegedly set fire to a 2024 GMC pickup truck owned by Calavera, near Port O’Connor, about 150 miles east of San Antonio, Texas.
An eyewitness reportedly saw Goynes putting out the flames as she walked away from the vehicle. Authorities found a gas can and a lighter near the scene.
Deputies and an officer from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department discovered Goynes as she allegedly tried to escape the scene on a kayak.
Authorities noted that Goynes sustained burn injuries on her hand and was found in possession of Calvera’s ID.
