A man was shot while taking out the garbage at his home on Christmas Day.
In the early hours of the morning, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office received a distress call. Major Suarez, a representative from the office, reported that the incident took place shortly after midnight at an apartment complex located on N Houston Rosslyn off Hwy 249. Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. As of now, the victim’s age has not been disclosed.
He was immediately transported to a nearby trauma center by emergency crews, and as of the latest update, he is currently undergoing surgery.
While the officers were conducting their investigation and attending to the injured young man, they discovered two other children who had also been wounded by gunshots. In a surprising turn of events, the shooter himself, an unidentified man, arrived at the scene and voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.
According to Major Suarez, initial findings suggest that the man was a victim of an armed robbery committed by a group of four young individuals, aged between 12 and 14. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when the man took out his own firearm and managed to reverse the roles, thwarting the attempted robbery.
A person was taken to the hospital after being shot at a bus stop in Northeast Houston.
Three children were quickly taken to the hospital, with two of them reported to be in stable condition. According to Major Suarez, the fourth child involved in the incident was also apprehended. Additionally, the victim/shooter is said to be cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
As of now, Major Suarez has stated that the reports indicating the kids were utilizing BB guns to commit the robbery are yet to be confirmed. However, there were multiple firearms found at the scene, which the deputies have seized for further investigation and processing.
The fate of the man in this case will be determined by a grand jury, as they will decide whether to press charges against him.
