On Christmas Eve, a maniac carried out violent attacks on a man and a woman at the Grand Central-42nd Street Station. Law enforcement sources and authorities reported these horrifying incidents.
The altercation between the assailant and a 42-year-old man took a violent turn on the stairs of the southbound entrance of the Midtown station around 10:15 p.m.
The assailant swiftly attacked, slashing the man’s left wrist with a knife following an argument, according to police and the sources.
The two victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital and are currently in stable condition.
After the second slashing incident, the suspect quickly escaped by running up an escalator. However, vigilant witnesses managed to alert the police, who promptly apprehended him. During the arrest, law enforcement officers successfully retrieved a knife from the suspect.
The NYPD has announced that they currently have a person of interest in custody.
No charges have been filed as of now.
According to sources, the suspect has been arrested three times in the past for criminal mischief, fare beating, and assaulting a police officer.
