A resident of Atlantic City will spend more than twenty years in prison as a result of his disturbing actions in 2022.
Oscar Oberlino Gomez Miralda, aged 43, received a 25-year prison sentence this week for committing first-degree aggravated sexual assault against a 5-year-old girl. In addition, he will serve a seven-year prison term for endangering the welfare of a child through sexual conduct.
Under the Jessica Lunsford Act, Gomez Miralda is required to serve a minimum of 25 years before being considered for parole. Following his release, he will also be obligated to register as a sex offender and will be subject to lifelong parole supervision.
In December 2022, Gomez Miralda was found guilty of committing an “act of sexual penetration” by a jury in Atlantic County.
The man lived with the child’s mother in Atlantic City, as they were in a relationship together.
Authorities say that the camera phone, which was being used to monitor the child’s bedroom, captured the assault on video.
