Three People Killed When Eight People Were Shot During A Gathering In Chicago’s Gage Park Neighborhood


Eight people were shot and three fatally, on Monday afternoon at a “social gathering” at a residence in Chicago’s Gage Park neighborhood, according to a police officer.

Authorities from the Chicago Fire Department report that a hospital stabilized another victim and hospitalized at least three people in critical condition.

According to Chicago Police Chief of Patrol John Hein, the incident took place during a social event. Shortly after 2 p.m., he said, police received a notification about a shooting at a home.

Hein said the victims, four males and four women, are between the ages of 20 and 35. According to Hein, all of the deceased were men.

Hein reports that private vehicles transported two of the injured to medical facilities, while city ambulances transported the others.

The motive for the violence and how it occurred were unknown. There was no information provided regarding the suspect or suspects. Hein has previously summoned authorities to the location.

More than a century-old bungalows and variety distinguish the town.
