The 49ers have scored on six straight drives in this game. Brock Purdy is dealing, and the Jets aren’t doing them any favors with five penalties.
The Niners enter the fourth quarter with a 13-point lead, on the heels of Jordan Mason rushing over 110 yards, and some clutch catches from Jauan Jennigs to move the chains.
The defense deserves credit, as they’ve given up two scoring drives on eight attempts against Aaron Rodgers. Deommodore Lenoir had a deflection that led to an interception. It took two contested catches down the field for the Jets to stay on the field on both scoring drives.
The 49ers struggled mightily against the run last season. Through three quarters, Breece Hall has 12 carries for 32 yards. The Niners defense has put a lid on New York’s running game, which has made New York one-dimensional.
If the offense can avoid turnovers or shooting themselves in the foot, they should emerge victorious.
