The NFL has had a pair of exciting games already, and we’re just now getting to Sunday.
Tyreek Hill was detained by police officers heading into the stadium. It might be the only time where it’s acceptable for somebody to say, “Do you know who I am?” The Jaguars are in town to take on the Dolphins, in what should be an exciting game.
Russell Wilson is inactive for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as Kirk Cousins makes his debut in Atlanta for the Falcons. Justin Fields will start in place of Wilson in what figures to be a lower-scoring game.
Brian Daboll takes over as the play-caller for the New York Giants in what feels like a last grasp to keep his job as the organization rolls with Daniel Jones. Sam Darnold starts for the Minnesota Vikings on the road. I think the offensive minds in this game could make for a sneaky, high-scoring game relative to expectation.
Dave Canales makes his head coaching debut on the road with the Carolina Panthers, while Dennis Allen and Derek Carr are on upset alert in New Orleans. I like the Panthers today and think they’ll be a feisty team all season.
Ja’Marr Chase is active for the Cincinnati Bengals, but New England is good enough on defense to give them issues. The problem for the Patriots will be whether they have enough ammo on the other side of the ball.
Caleb Williams makes his debut against the Tennessee Titans. The Chicago Bears might be a playoff team, but they could struggle today.
Marvin Harrison Jr. gives Kyler Murray a threat on the outside. When Kyler has one of those, he’s usually dangerous. The Arizona Cardinals are on the road against the Buffalo Bills as Josh Allen finds out what life is like without Stefon Diggs.
Lastly, C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans are in a playoff rematch against the Indianapolis Colts. This time, it’s Anthony Richardson instead of Gardner Minshew.
