The NFL Kickoff Weekend continues with the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles playing in Brazil

We continue NFL Kickoff Weekend with a Friday night game in the most unlikely of places. The Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles are playing the first of the 2024 International Games in Brazil.

The Packers and Eagles are interesting. On the Packers’ side quarterback Jordan Love inked a four-year, $220 million contract with the Packers. This is thanks largely in part to the 2023 season where the Packers made it all the way to the NFC Divisional and were doing quite well in that game until their opponent, the San Francisco 49ers woke up and proceeded to take the victory.

With the Eagles, rather than getting knocked out of the playoffs by the 49ers, they instead got broken by the 49ers. The Niners gave the Eagles a butt kicking, in Philadelphia. A butt kicking the team never really recovered from.

FanDuel Sportsbook has the Eagles favored by two points. That line has shifted up by a half point at times only to cool back down, so it may be 2.5 points at kickoff. I actually wouldn’t mind taking the Packers here. I don’t feel amazing about it, but it’s worth a flyer.

The over/under is set at 49.5 points and I have no problem taking the over here. Given how early in the season it is, I think both teams have a chance to get some runs going with the score.

So far with my betting if I used money I’d be in the hole with the Baltimore Ravens/Kansas City Chiefs game from yesterday. Last night I said bet the under and the Derek Henry prop bet and that didn’t go exactly the way I planned. I did think the Chiefs could cover but wasn’t feeling great about it.

I’m more confident in my pick of taking the underdog, at least more than I do with the pick from yesterday, but I still am not thrilled. As far as some player prop bets, there’s really nothing that I’m feeling confident on given where the game is and how the first week of the season is typically the sloppiest. I’d say bet the underdog and accept my appologies if things don’t go your way.
