Week 4 early game thread: There are 8 games on the early slate

The San Francisco 49ers are in the afternoon slate today, so that gives us time to enjoy the morning games. There are eight to choose from.

The New Orleans Saints are banged up. They head into today missing a pair of starters along the offensive line, as well as Demario Davis, an All-Pro level linebacker. Wide receiver Chris Olave is less than 100 percent as well.

When you can pressure Derek Carr, he. crumbles. That should happen today. I like the Falcons in a low scoring game.

Mike Tomlin has the Pittsburgh Steelers undefeated with Justin Fields under center. Is there anything Tomlin can’t do? On the other side, Shane Steichen is trying to figure out how to run his offense with Anthony Richardson, who has been closer to downright awful than average. I worry about the Colts being able to block the Steelers, which is why I believe Pittsburgh gets it done on the road.

Trevor Lawrence looks more like Mr. Irrevelant than Brock Purdy. The Jacksonville Jaguars just lost to the Buffalo Bills by a billion in what was the worst game plan of the year. That shouldn’t underscore how sloppy the Houston Texans looked and how shockingly inaccurate C.J. Stroud has looked. The Jaguars should keep things close and potentially pull off the upset.

Jordan Love returns for the Green Bay Packers, but who knows how effective he’ll be in his first game back. It’s Sam Darnold on the road in a division game. The Packers should win.

Sean McVay is off an upset and now gets the Chicago Bears on the road. The Los Angeles Rams are incredibly well-coached but also wildly banged up. I was wrong about the Bears, and I haven’t seen anything to make me believe they’ll turn it around.

The final two games are between the Denver Broncos/New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles/Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No interest in watching either of those.
