49ers news: 4 prop bets for Sunday’s game against the Vikings

Another week, another batch of prop bets to target on Sunday for the 49ers! Our bet selections dropped before Christian McCaffrey was ruled out for Monday Night Football, so any bet placed was voided and refunded. Even with one prop nullified, we didn’t sweep the board, with George Kittle falling just short of his receiving yard total of 45.5. Jauan Jennings and Deebo Samuel cleared their totals, so headed into Week 2, our record sits at 2-1.

Let’s look at some prop bets to target on Sunday, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Sam Darnold Interception (-146)

A wise man once told me about wagering: Make sure you take your singles and doubles instead of going for the home run every time. As good as Darnold looked against the New York Giants, it’s still Sam Darnold, and he managed to give the ball back last week against the Giants’ anemic defense.

The 49ers will create pressure up the middle against the Vikings offensive line. Darnold is a lock to throw a pick on Sunday.

Jordan Mason Anytime TD (-170)

With McCaffrey out for the second week in a row, Mason stepped up in a big way on Monday night. It won’t take 28 carries for Mason to cash this bet. Minnesota’s defense will throw exotic blitzes at Brock Purdy and the 49ers’ offensive line but won’t have an answer for Mason, especially near the goal line.

Give me the safe money with Mason.

Brock Purdy over 7.5 rushing yards (-113)

Speaking of Brian Flores and his blitzing tendencies, Purdy stands to take advantage of an aggressive defense with his legs. Purdy cleared his rushing yard total with one rush on Monday night. Seven and a half feels like stealing.

I fully expect Purdy to make it happen on the ground a few times on Sunday. Last year against the Vikings, Purdy had five carries for 19 yards.

Brandon Aiyuk over 58.5 receiving yards (-113)

Yes, Aiyuk had a drop on a Purdy dime in the end zone. Yes, Aiyuk said he was afraid to watch the film back. Yes, following his offseason, fans are expecting a lot from the second-team all-pro.

Minnesota’s secondary, including veteran Stephon Gilmore, doesn’t strike fear in my heart, and I doubt it does for Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers receivers. Aiyuk bounces back and hits the over on this total.

The Darnold selection can’t be combined with the other three prop bets, but even with the three, it comes to +442. Add the 49ers ML in place of Darnold, and it will climb to +603.

Happy betting, and enjoy the game!
