Suspects Attempt to Cover Up Crime After Gruesome Murder

According to True Crime News, in a chilling case from Washington County, Tony Charboneau is facing serious charges after allegedly kidnapping and brutally killing his ex-girlfriend, Amy Houge with the help of his new girlfriend Brandi Luffy. The tragic events unfolded on June 20, according to a statement from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The nightmare began with an argument between Charboneau and Amy Houge. During the dispute Charboneau allegedly punched and stomped on Houge. Following this Charboneau and Luffy placed Houge in a wheelchair and tied her hands and feet with ratchet straps preventing her from escaping. The couple then collected shovels, tarps, a pickax and a gun. They drove Houge still restrained in the wheelchair to a wooded area near Charboneau’s home. There, Charboneau allegedly dug a shallow grave using the tools they had brought. After taking Houge out of the wheelchair he reportedly shot her killing her instantly. Authorities say Charboneau spent the rest of the day burying Amy Houge in the grave and covering her with rocks and tree limbs. Luffy stayed in the car acting as a lookout. After burying the body Charboneau and Luffy allegedly destroyed the ratchet straps and tarp and disposed of Houge’s purse in a river in Jefferson County.
