The victims were three men: Daniel Lopez, 20, his father Romero Lopez, 40, and their friend George Elijah Jr., 50. They were all shot and killed on June 4.

The shooting happened at a store called Tienda Los Hermanos, which is owned by Romero’s sister. The police think the men were robbed because they had a lot of cash in the store. Some of the stolen money came from a box where people donated money for Daniel and his father. The mayor of Montgomery said it’s very sad and scary that small businesses are often targeted by thieves because they have a lot of cash. A reward was offered for information about the shooter, and it led to Butler’s arrest.
