Cinamon Rigmaiden Faces Felony Murder Charges After Allegedly Setting Fire Knowing Victim’s Disabilities

According to True Crime News, in Detroit a heartbreaking incident occurred on June 3 when 31-year-old Cinamon Rigmaiden allegedly set her ex-boyfriend’s house on fire resulting in the death of 53-year-old Tina Dorrough and serious injuries to two others. Rigmaiden had recently broken up with Dorrough’s son and according to the Detroit Police Department she allegedly poured an accelerant on the porch of his house and set it ablaze. When firefighters arrived they managed to put out the flames but they found Tina Dorrough deceased inside. Two other people a 57-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman were seriously injured and taken to a hospital. Rigmaiden then reportedly texted her ex-boyfriend about the fire and went to a McDonald’s before being arrested the next day.

Cinamon Rigmaiden allegedly set her ex-boyfriend’s house on fire, knowing that Tina Dorrough, who had mobility issues was inside. After starting the blaze she messaged her ex-boyfriend and went to a McDonald’s. The next day Livonia Police arrested her and she faces charges of felony murder assault with intent to murder and first-degree arson reflecting the grave consequences of her actions.

Prosecutor Condemns Arson as “Beyond Reprehensible,” Urges Non-Violent Conflict Resolution

Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney Kim Worthy spoke out against Rigmaiden’s alleged actions calling them “beyond reprehensible.” Worthy criticized the use of such extreme measures to deal with the end of a relationship highlighting the senselessness of violence as a solution. The death of Tina Dorrough and the injuries sustained by the other victims have left the local community in shock and sorrow. This tragic event stresses the urgent need for more effective ways to handle personal conflicts without resorting to violence ensuring that support systems are in place to help individuals cope with the emotional challenges of relationship breakdowns.
