Transparency and Accountability: LAPD Takes Swift Action Following  Lapd Officer’s Arrest

According to CBSNews, The Los Angeles Police Department made headlines when one of its LAPD officers, Richard Podkowski, was arrested for hurting someone with a dangerous weapon during an off-duty fight on May 21. The incident happened at the corner of Belford Avenue and Manchester Avenue, near Westchester and Inglewood. Although investigators didn’t say what weapon Podkowski used, the seriousness of the charge shows how serious the situation is.

Right away, the LAPD’s Internal Affairs Division started looking into what happened, along with the ongoing criminal investigation. Because of how serious the accusations are, Podkowski was put on leave from his job as soon as he got out of jail. This shows that the LAPD takes these matters seriously and wants to be open and honest about what’s going on.
