Flood Victims in San Diego Can Seek CalFresh Aid Starting March 7: Multiple Application Options Available

One-Time Food Aid Payment for Flood-Affected Residents: Apply for CalFresh Using CF 385 Form

As reported by 10 News San Diego, beginning on Thursday, March 7, people impacted by the San Diego floods will have the chance to access support from CalFresh, a state program aimed at assisting low-income households in obtaining nutritious meals. Residents or employees in areas affected by the January 22 floods can apply for a single payment to buy food for their families by completing a CF 385 form.

There are several avenues through which flood victims can apply for assistance, as outlined on the CalFresh website. These include submitting an application online at benefitscal.com, contacting Access at 866-262-9881, visiting any local Family Resource Center to complete a CF 385 form, or going to one of the two FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers.

Those impacted by the floods will be granted a single payment based on their household size and monthly earnings, with larger households receiving more substantial amounts without a maximum cap. The deadline for flood victims to seek assistance is Friday, March 15, following which recipients will receive their CalFresh funds via deposit onto an EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) card.
