Ohio Crime Rate, Think Twice Before Moving To These Neighborhoods

Using the FBI’s latest crime data on per capita, Southwest Journal have reported RoadSnacks’ Ohio cities to be wary of when traveling most especially if you’re thinking about moving there.

Ohio’s Most Dangerous City for 2024

Analyzing Ohio crime rate using the FBI’s latest crime data, Canton City turned out to be the most dangerous place to live in 2024. It holds the 3rd highest burglary rate in Ohio and holds the 3rd highest rape cases. Its violent crime rate ranks second.

Other than Canton, you should also be very cautious in Moraine, Cleveland, Springfield, Portsmouth, Dayton, Whitehall, Mount healthy, Cincinnati, and Akron. According to Southwest Journal, these are the top 10 of Ohio’s most dangerous cities.

On the other hand, Ohio crime rate is significantly lower in Poland Township, Powell, Brecksville, Indian Hill, Canfield, Avon Lake, Clearcreek Township, Sagamore Hills, Broadview Heights and Olmstead Township. Their crime rates are lesser compared to the state average.

Should You Move To Ohio This 2024?

Southwest Journal’s report is primarily based on analyzing the FBI’s latest crime data. It used the violent crimes per capita which include murder, rape, robbery, and assault. The ranking also used property crimes per capita which include burglary, larceny, vehicle theft and arson. Also, not all cities made it to the list because only cities with population over 5,000 were selected.

Ohio offers a great deal of culture, natural beauty, and rich history. Like in other states, when thinking about being a resident of Ohio, one should be wary of each cities’ safety levels. Also, in every city, crime rates vary in every neighborhood. It’s not wise to blame the residents for Ohio crime rates, but a simple way of staying safe even if you are in the Ohio’s dangerous cities is to install a security camera.
