Applications for Boulder’s food tax program will start on the first day of March this year.
Boulder Food Tax Rebates
Starting on March 1, Boulder will accept applications for food tax rebates for lower-income residents. Those who make $46,500 or less can receive a food tax rebate of $104, while a family of four making $66,400 or less can receive a food tax rebate of $318.
The food tax rebate applicants must have lived in Boulder in 2023 and be 62 years old or older, have a disability, or have children under 18 at home. In 2023, Boulder granted 1,093 food tax rebates totaling $162,000.
According to a published article by SmartNews, those who applied for the food tax rebate in 2023 will automatically receive an application for 2024. Applications for the food tax rebate must be submitted by June 30.

City Of Boulder’s Commitment
In a published article by the City Of Boulder (.gov), the City of Boulder offers annual rebates to help lower-income community members pay for food, known as the Food Tax Rebate program.
The application period for the program begins on March 1, 2024, and forms must be received or postmarked by June 30, 2024. More information and applications can be found on the city’s website or picked up in person by calling Milly Malloy, the Program Administrator.
