Find Out How You Could Benefit From the Clorox Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

After a class action lawsuit over Pine-Sol scented cleansers tainted with germs, Clorox reached a major settlement. The cleaning product manufacturer was criticized in 2022 after lab tests found P. Aeruginosa in Pine-Sol products. Bacteria can cause serious diseases and death. Two New York and California customers launched a class action complaint. They reached a settlement that would compensate customers who bought contaminated products during a certain timeframe.

Amid pandemic concerns driving increased usage of cleaning products, Clorox has agreed to pay out up to $5.56 million to affected customers. The settlement covers purchases made between November 1, 2018, and November 15, 2023. Those looking for refunds are required to file by February 7, with various criteria determining the amount owed to each customer. Notably, most scented Pine-Sol products qualify for payouts, except for the original pine-scented cleaner. Customers filing claims without proof of purchase may receive $3.57 per product, up to a maximum of two, potentially totaling $7.14. Full refunds are available to those with proof of purchase, although certain conditions apply. You may visit www.pssettlement.com to file a claim and for more details.

The settlement also provides customers with options regarding their rights. They can choose to file a claim, waive their right to sue Clorox on the issue and receive a payout. Alternatively, they can opt out of the suit or object, potentially allowing separate legal action. However, customers failing to take any action are included in the suit, forfeiting the opportunity for a payout. It’s important to note that no infections have been directly linked to the Pine-Sol contamination, and the risk of serious infection is limited for most people.
