American seniors and people with disabilities can now get $1,000 in rebates under the property tax and rent rebates program in Pennsylvania.

$1,000 Rebates for Seniors and People With Disabilities

Seniors and people with disabilities are more likely a few of the groups affected by the rising inflation rate and increasing property taxes. In Pennsylvania, Gov. Josh Shapiro said that seniors and people with disabilities can get $1,000 in rebates under the expanded property tax and rent rebates program.

In a published article in The U.S. Sun, homeowners and renters in Pennsylvania can get $1,000 in rebates depending on their income. It is up of the $650 last year. In a statement, Gov. Josh Shapiro said, “You should be able to enjoy your golden years. I know for many of you, a few hundred extra bucks in your pocket can help make that much easier.”

Basic Criteria To Qualify in the Rebates

According to a published article on the official website of the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, here are the three basic criteria to qualify in the $1,000 rebates:

  • The rebates are available for any Pennsylvanian who rents or owns a home in the state.
  • Age is a factor.
  • The program is made for anyone over 65, widows and widowers over 50, and disabled people over age 18.

Furrthermore, applicants’ incomes must be less than $45,000 a year.
