Attacked with Intent to Kill Kabuye, a well-known figure in Uganda’s LGBTQ+ community was found in critical condition after assailants targeted him with a vicious attack. Activist’s Concerns for LGBTQ+ Rights Kabuye had expressed deep concerns about the consequences of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023, emphasizing that it violates fundamental human rights and creates an unsafe environment for discrimination and persecution against the LGBTQ+ community. The law enforces severe penalties, including the death penalty for “aggravated homosexuality” and lengthy prison sentences for promoting homosexuality.
