Silverado Senior Living Management Inc.’s Criminal Charges Over COVID-19 Deaths Dismissed By L.A. Superior Court

The charges against Silverado Senior Living Management Inc. were dismissed by a judge from the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Reports say the charges filed against the facility were in connection with the deaths of several individuals due to COVID-19.

On October 25, the criminal charges filed against Silverado Senior Living Management Inc. and three of its managers were dismissed by a judge from the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Further reports say the charges against Silverado Senior Living Management Inc. were in connection with the deaths of a nurse and 13 other individuals due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

An article in the Orange County Register states that in February, the Silverado Senior Living Management Inc., along with chief executive officer Loren Bernard Shook, vice president Kimberly Cheryl Butrum, and administrator Jason Michael Russo, were charged with 5 felony counts of violation causing death and 13 felony counts of elder endangerment.

Deaths in Silverado Senior Living Management Inc.

According to an article in Los Angeles Daily News, the investigation into Silverado Senior Living Management Inc. was set in motion after the death of employee Brittany Ringo, then 32, on April 20, 2020, was reported by the facility.

Further reports say the other individuals who died in Silverado Senior Living Management Inc.’s residential care facility were identified as Catherine Apothaker, Elizabeth Cohen, Myrna Frank, Richard Herman, Michael Horn, Jake Khorsandi, Kaye Kiddoo, Joseph Manduke, Luba Paz, Frank Piumetti, Albert Sarnoff and Dolores Sarnoff, and Jay Tedeman.
