Louisiana Residents Voted By 72.56% To Ban Private Election Funding, The Second State To Enact The Amendment. This Ban Prohibits The Government To Use The Donation From Foreign Entities For Election Purposes.

Private Donations May Hinder A Fair election.

Private funding commenced when Mark Zuckerberg and wife donated to nonprofit in 2020 general election. These funding comes from private individuals to be used solely on election purposes such as hiring individuals on temporary basis. In 2021, laws were made to ban these fundings and resources.

North Carolina and Louisiana became the 26th and 27th state to enact the ban into law, the law prohibits the state and local government to use donations made by foreign entities and individuals solely for election administration.

Louisiana approved the amendment with a vote of 72.56% on October 14. Critics said that these donations can be used to run the election unfavorably and gain votes unfairly. The voters may go to the candidates with a lot of favors to offer using the fundings, which will prohibit the people of a free and fair election.

21 out 27 states already have this law in which Louisiana successfully amended the law by ballot voting by legislatives.
