A homicide investigation continues after a woman was found burned to death in Austin, Texas on September 29 around 5:08 a.m.
Woman Was Burned Alive
A woman in Austin, Texas identified as Melissa Davis, 33 years old, was found burned to death. The Austin Police Department said in a news release that the Austin Fire Department responded to a fire scene at 6300 block of Mesa Drive.
In a published article in TRUE CRIME DAILY, they found the deceased body of a woman with significant body trauma. It was found that the fire spanned a 10-foot area. Moreover, investigators found an accelerant near the body of the woman which was in a small grassy area adjacent to a fence.

Investigators Found a New Lighter and a Butcher Knife
According to a published article in PEOPLE, the detectives investigating the heinous crime found a new lighter on the ground and a K-9 also detected the scent of gasoline or diesel. Additionally, the K-9 also found a butcher knife which they assumed was used in the crime.
Furthermore, the autopsy revealed that the woman was burned alive. However, police authorities could not yet give more details about the crime and the possible suspect. Detectives said that the woman’s cellphone will help to identify the suspect.
