The search for the missing teenager who was swept away while swimming at Coney Island Beach in New York is still ongoing. Reports say along with the missing teenager, another male teenager had drowned but was rescued by onlookers.
On July 27, at around 12:45 p.m., 911 received reports of a drowning incident at the Coney Island Beach near the West 22nd Street in New York. Reports say three onlookers have rescued a 16-year-old male teenager from drowning.According to Sabes, John McLean, one of the onlookers who sprung into action and rushed into the waters to rescue the teenager, was reading a newspaper when he heard screams nearby. McLean stated that two teenagers were drowning and that he immediately responded to them with another onlooker, Fernando Agurto.
The teenager who was removed from the water was reportedly conscious and responsive. However, upon being rescued, McLean stated that the teenager appeared like he was “ready to drown”.

Still Searching for Missing Teenager
Unfortunately, an article in CBS News states that apart from the male teenager who was rescued, a 15-year-old missing teenager was swept away by the waters. After McLean and Agurto were able to rescue the first teenager, they went out to get the missing teenager as well, but they have already lost sight of him. Nonetheless, to date, a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department stated that a search for the missing teenager is still ongoing.
