Recently, a car crash occurred at the Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center in Prince George’s County, Maryland, leading to the displacement of eight ICU patients. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
Car Crash Disrupts Prince George’s Co. Hospital
According to a published article, the car crash incident took place on Sunday at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Emergency services, including Prince George’s Fire and EMS, were swiftly dispatched to the scene. The car had crashed into a generator and a sub-building that was detached from the hospital’s main structure, where the ICU patients were housed.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the car crash. Fire officials confirmed that a small fire broke out but was quickly extinguished. Although the car did not fully penetrate the building, it did cause damage to the side, necessitating immediate action.

Car Crash Caused ICU Patients’ Relocation
According to Sara Newman, a spokesperson for the medical center, the car specifically struck the building where the ICU was located.
According to Washington Post, this resulted in some patients being transferred to different areas within the hospital, while others were relocated to alternative healthcare facilities. Furthermore, the car also collided with a generator, exacerbating the extent of the damage.
Additionally, it was reported that the driver of the car emerged from the accident uninjured.
In response to the car crash incident, the hospital’s entire leadership team has been present on-site to assist with the cleanup efforts.
Their dedication and involvement demonstrate the commitment of the medical center to address the situation promptly and effectively.
Officer Emily Austin, a spokesperson for the Prince George’s County police, stated that the driver of the vehicle allegedly lost control, leading to the car crash.
