The abortion services ban is on hold, but clinics will no longer be allowed to provide the service.

Abortion Services Clinics Are Forced To Shut Down
Indiana clinics that offer abortion services will no longer be able to perform abortions because starting August 1, there will be an abortion ban that strips their licenses if they will not follow, despite the procedure temporarily staying legal in the state.
ABC News reported that this modification will be denied after the state’s Supreme Court upheld the ban on June 30 concluding litigation of a legal challenge.
Indiana’s largest abortion service provider Planned Parenthood announced that all their abortion appointments have been booked through when the ban goes into effect.
The OB-GYN of the Planned Parenthood and Women’s Med clinics in Indiana, Dr. Katie McHugh, said that they are trying to scramble to see as many patients as possible in the next few weeks before the clinics are shut down again.

Abortion Services Will Still Be Temporarily Legally Permitted
Although abortion stays legal in the state due to a second lawsuit, that allows it to continue to work its way through the courts, that claims the law violates protections for religious freedom and access to abortions should remain for those who desire to obtain abortions due to their religious beliefs. As this case is litigated, abortions will still temporarily be legally permitted but this will only be available at hospitals, not any other clinics or other institutions.
However, McHugh claimed that not all hospitals offer abortion services for all cases, and even if it is available it is extremely expensive to receive care at a hospital compared to an abortion clinic.
Dr. Carrie Rouse, a maternal-fetal medicine expert and director of labor and delivery at Indiana University, told ABC News that the hospitals where she provides care in the state only allow abortions for “medical indications.”
