Deadline to $1.5 Billion Unclaimed Tax Refunds 2019 Ends in 18 Days, IRS Announces

The Internal Revenue Service estimates that there are around $1.5 billion in unclaimed Tax Refunds 2019. Taxpayers who are owed money are urged to claim these refunds before the deadline on July 17.

Taxpayers who have not claimed their refunds are urged to claim the Tax Refunds 2019 on or before the deadline on July 17. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) estimates that there are almost $1.5 billion in unclaimed refunds from the tax year 2019.

According to Villalovas, between 2019 and 2020, the IRS issued relief to some taxpayers who struggled to file their tax returns on time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the IRS offered a waiver of important return penalties.

Claiming Tax Refunds 2019

According to Picchi, taxpayers who are interested in claiming the Tax Refunds 2019 must obtain the forms required in the filing. These forms can be requested from employers, banks, or other payers who assist in an individual taxpayer’s federal gross income. Otherwise, a taxpayer can also use the IRS’ Get Transcript Online tool to order a free wage and income transcript.

The amount of the Tax Refunds 2019 that each taxpayer receives will depend on the tax status of a household. Further information on individual taxpayers and households whose incomes were below the specific thresholds in 2019 can be found on the agency’s website. Nonetheless, reports say that the average median refund in 2019 amounted to $893.
