A Guaranteed Income pilot program in Los Angeles, California offers $1,000 worth of monthly payments over the course of two years. The program, “Breathe” will choose 200 applicants who are former foster children to be eligible for the payments.According to Notheis, on June 20, the applications for the Guaranteed Income pilot program opened and is scheduled to close on July 3 at 11:59 p.m. Residents who are interested for the payments can apply online on the website of the Los Angeles County.

Who will qualify for the Guaranteed Income pilot program?
An article in MARCA states that to be able to qualify for the Guaranteed Income pilot program, an individual must be at least 21 years old and must not turn 24 before September 1 this year. In addition, an individual must previously be in care of the Department of Children and Family Services of Los Angeles County on or after turning 18.
Other eligibility requirements for the Guaranteed Income pilot program include earning an income at or less than 100% of the area median income for a household with one member. On the other hand, for households with two or more members, the income must be 120% of the area median income.
