A New Hampshire man has been convicted of first-degree murder for the brutal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend inside a restaurant in Massachusetts.

New Hampshire Man Stabbed Ex-Girlfriend 58 Times

Carlos Asencio, 32, a New Hampshire man allegedly stabbed his 31-year-old ex-girlfriend, Amanda Dabrowski.

The tragic incident occurred on July 3, 2019, when Dabrowski was attending a book club meeting at O’Connor’s Restaurant & Bar, People reported.

According to prosecutors, New Hampshire man Asencio and ex-girlfriend Dabrowski had initially met while working at Bristol Myers Squibb, a pharmaceutical company, and had started dating.

However, after their breakup, New Hampshire man Asencio allegedly used a Google locator app to track Dabrowski, as reported by Boston.com.

Around 7:50 p.m., she was viciously attacked and stabbed 58 times, according to Boston25News.

In a brave attempt to intervene and restrain the assailant, a patron inside the establishment was also targeted and assaulted by Asencio.

Consequently, New Hampshire man Asencio has been found guilty of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in addition to the murder charge.

Described as a quality control microbiologist at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Devens, Amanda Dabrowski was known for her love of her Great Dane named Gus, her passion for wine, and her blog titled “The Glorious Grape,” as mentioned in her online obituary.

New Hampshire man Carlos Asencio, 32, now faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole following the slaying of 31-year-old Amanda Dabrowski.

In a statement released through the District Attorney’s office, Dabrowski’s family expressed their relief at the verdict, saying they are relieved that the jury found the man guilty and responsible for his crime.

During the trial, New Hampshire man Asencio’s defense attorney argued for a not guilty verdict by reason of insanity. According to Boston25News, defense attorney Robert Griffin stated that his motive was to stop hearing the voices.

Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early expressed his sympathy for the loss of Dabrowski in a press release following the verdict.

New Hampshire man Carlos Asencio is scheduled to be sentenced on June 29, where he is expected to receive a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the murder of Amanda Dabrowski.
