Spokesperson Rob Herrin of the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue stated that on the afternoon of June 13, a fire at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa was reported. Reportedly, the American Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Show was set to open at the fairgrounds on June 14 and last through the weekend.

However, an article in Fox News states that at some point during the dog show, some bystanders reported seeing smoke coming from the vents of a certain recreational vehicle. Herrin stated that the bystanders attempted to get inside the vehicle. However, the flames and smoke hindered them from doing so.
