Last month, the officials in Colorado conducted an investigation after Shannon Amos, John Amos’ daughter, claimed that her father was being abused by an unnamed caregiver. In addition, Shannon also launched a GoFundMe page last week to raise $500,000 that will allegedly fund her father’s care, aftercare, and legal fees.

An article in CNN states that the Sheriff’s Office of Custer County reportedly looked into Shannon’s complaint. The Sheriff’s Office have collaborated with the Department of Human Services and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and have already contacted John Amos and his attorney.

However, according to Vasquez, on June 12, American actor and the “Roots” star, John Amos, 83, released a statement about the reports of him being admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) through his publicist Belinda Foster. The statement addressed his fans saying he is currently hospitalized in Tennessee, but is not in the ICU fighting for his life.
