The Temple University Police Association is demanding the resignation of the school’s vice president for public safety. Reports say Dr. Jennifer Griffin unlawfully terminated three officers within 48 hours.

On June 1, the Temple University Police Association released a statement that demands for the resignation of Dr. Jennifer Griffin, the school’s vice president for public safety. The association added that Griffin also made an unlawful decision to terminate the employment of three female officers within a span of 48 hours. An article in 6ABC states that the Temple University Police Association believes that Griffin has failed to protect both the community and its police officers.

Griffin’s Failure to Perform

According to Snyder, the Temple University Police Association stated that there were no remarkable safety improvements and violent crimes have increased around the school during Griffin’s vice presidency.

Furthermore, the Temple University Police Association mentions the fatal shooting of Sergeant Christopher Fitzgerald in February as one of the instances of Griffin’s failure to perform her position efficiently. Reports say Fitzgerald was responding to multiple reports of robbery near the campus. In the end, the association’s statements ended with the leaders demanding that the officials of the university take immediate action to resolve their concerns.
