An Arizona shooting incident happened late Friday night in Mesa, CBS News reported.
Arizona Shooting Incident
A man was arrested for a series of shootings in Arizona that left 4 people dead and one injured in Mesa and Phoenix, Arizona, police confirmed on Sunday.
Iren Byers, the suspect, was arrested in connection with 4 shootings late Friday night in Mesa. He was also linked to a homicide earlier on Friday in Phoenix, Arizona.
Police confirmed that Byers is believed to be responsible for all the shootings and was charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.
Security camera footage showed that the suspect was wearing the same clothing that the witnesses had described. Police were able to link the cases from the crime scenes in Phoenix and Mesa to a 9-millimeter handgun.
Arizona Shooting
Initially, the suspect was taken into custody for trespassing, but he surprisingly took responsibility for all five shootings.
Police said that he told the officers where he put the clothes he wore and the handgun he used during the shootings. It was recovered at the suspect’s residence.
The Arizona shooting victims were identified. The first victim, Nicholas Arnstad, 41, was shot to death along a canal.
Victims in the Mesa shooting were also identified. Two 41-year-old men and one unidentified believed to be an adult. One is a 36-year-old woman who was hospitalized and set to undergo surgery, due to serious injuries.
