A recent NYC subway news reveals that Carolyn Neely, the aunt of Jordan Neely, recently hired Mills & Edwards law firm from Manhattan to file a civil action lawsuit against former Marine Daniel Penny, 24. A letter reportedly states that the law firm was appointed to pursue a claim for personal injuries and wrongful death. Furthermore, the letter also requested for Penny’s insurance information.

However, according to Sabes, Penny’s lawyer, Thomas Keniff, argues that his client only took action to protect himself as well as the other passengers who felt threatened on the subway train. Nonetheless, reports say, if Penny is convicted, he could face 5 to 15 years in prison.
