Dinis Moreira was charged with murder after beating his female neighbor to death with a bludgeon. Reports say the murder suspect invited the victim over for a drink the night of the incident.
Around midnight on May 26, authorities received a report about a woman with severe trauma to the head and face. Reportedly, the caller stated that upon arriving at their house in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, they found a woman gasping for air and trembling on the kitchen floor.According to Stimson, the victim was immediately transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead thereafter. The authorities then identified the victim as Valerie Oakhem, 58. Investigators believe that the attack on Oakhem was targeted and not random.

Charges Faced by Murder Suspect
According to Mancini, the murder suspect was eventually identified as Dinis Moreira, 69. The office of the District Attorney stated that Moreira invited Oakhem over for a drink the night of the incident. Authorities also added that the report was made by a relative of the murder suspect.
However, on the same day, May 26, Moreira pleaded not guilty to one count of murder charges. To date, the murder suspect will spend 20 days at a hospital for observation and will be held without bail. Furthermore, Moreira is scheduled to be in court on June 14.
