Minnesota police arrested an Old man accused of burning an apartment
Travis Lee Carlson, 37-year-old has been charged with first-degree arson in connection with the blaze in the port city of Duluth near the Wisconsin border on May 18.
According to court documents obtained by Minneapolis-based NBC affiliate KARE officers arrived at the Duplex on West Fourth Street shortly after 4 a.m. on the day in question. In a statement to the newspaper St. Louis County Attorney Vicky Wanta said there may be mental health or drug-related concerns about the defendant‘s conduct. Carlson reportedly played Billy Joel’s song We Didn’t Start The Fire as first responders arrived to fight the fire.

They reportedly found burn marks and a few wires coming out of a switchboard in the basement. Investigators also found a hole in the gas tank of Carlson’s truck with a drill bit lying next to it. Gas can lids near the truck, and gas accelerators throughout the apartment.
Three people and a cat lived in that house and no residents were injured in the blaze officials said. However, the tenants were evicted and received help from the Red Cross.
