A man from Pennsylvania was arrested after the remains of the dismembered body of a woman were found by hunters inside the woods in Georgia.
Dismembered Body Found in the Woods
The hunters of Portal Hunting Club near Liberty and McIntosh reported that they found human remains or dismembered body inside the woods on December 2, 2022. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) also confirmed this report.
In a published report in TRUE CRIME DAILY, the GBI later identified the victim as Mindi Kassotis and it is allegedly believed that her body was found between one to two weeks after she was killed. The GBI also added that the victim could be a victim of homicide.
Meanwhile, further testing of the human remains indicated and determined that the dismembered body of the woman was placed on Nov. 27, 2022. Furthermore, they also tried to identify the woman through a forensic artist and worked with the Federal

Man Arrested in Pennsylvania
A man in Pennsylvania identified as Nicholas Kassotis, also known as Nicholas Killian James Stark was arrested in connection to the disappearance and death of the woman. It was found that Nicholas Kassotis is the husband of Mindi Kassotis and they were both living together in Savannah, Georgia.
The GBI believed that her husband is the primary suspect and he was charged with the following:
- malice murder
- felony murder
- aggravated assault
- tampering with evidence
- removal of body parts from the scene of death or dismemberment
FOX News reports that Nicholas Kassotis is now held in Lancaster County Prison. He is waiting to be extradited back to Georgia to face the cases filed against him.
