Daniel C. Howard faced charges of murder and domestic battery in connection with the death of his own wife. Reports say the former Idaho State Trooper previously told authorities that his wife had shot herself to death.
On February 2, 2021, Daniel C. Howard, 57, apparently called the police to report that his wife, Kendy Howard, had shot herself to death. However, the investigators recently discovered a probable cause after determining that Kendy’s gunshot wound was not self-inflicted.According to Acosta, the former Idaho State Trooper has a criminal history already. In 2014, Daniel allegedly resigned from the police after being placed on administrative leave without pay. The investigators apparently probed into the criminal charges he faced in the counties of Bonner and Kootenai.

Former Idaho State Trooper’s Charges on Other Counties
According to Cabeza, the former Idaho State Trooper had previously threatened to kill his best friend, Matthew Wood, after he allegedly discovered that his wife was having an affair with him. Daniel reportedly poured syrup into Wood’s cars, left him offensive messages, and fired a shotgun at his house. In addition, he apparently also stole thousands of rounds of ammunition from the authorities and used a fake name in applying for a motorcycle.
The former Idaho State Trooper reportedly struck a plea deal for the charges he faced such as title fraud, petty theft, malicious injury to property, and failing to tag a deer he shot, Daniel served 120 days in jail and spent 600 hours of community service. In 2011, he was also accused of shooting a woman to death while on duty. However, it was ruled justified by another investigative agency.
On April 21, the former Idaho State Trooper faced charges of murder and domestic battery in connection with the death of his wife. To date, Daniel is in jail without bond and is scheduled to be arraigned next week. However, it is still not certain if he has recruited a lawyer to speak on his behalf.
