Newsbreak: Oklahoma Deputy Miraculously Survives After Being Pinned by Gate in Serious Accident

A sheriff’s deputy in Oklahoma was involved in a serious accident on March 10 after his patrol car hit a partially open security gate on the campus of Life Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. The deputy, identified as Jeremy McCain, was exiting Oklahoma Christian School while traveling at 10 mph when the incident occurred. The gate went through his front windshield and left him pinned. The sheriff’s office released a statement saying that McCain died three times that day but was revived each time.

McCain died first at the scene, but off-duty medical personnel revived him. The deputy later died in the emergency room of the University of Oklahoma Medical Center when doctors opened his chest, and a third time when he was in the operating room. However, doctors were able to save him. McCain’s condition was upgraded to “stable” after receiving 60 units of blood so far.

The extent of McCain’s injuries is still unknown, but he seems to have avoided significant brain damage, according to the sheriff’s office. McCain has a broken neck. The deputy is a single dad, and his family believes that he is fighting for his son right now. During a press briefing on Monday, the sheriff read a statement from McCain’s family, saying that the deputy has defeated the odds and continues to fight the good fight. The family expressed their gratitude to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma Christian School for their love, comfort, and hospitality during this difficult time.
