Newsbreak: Boulder, Colorado Offers Annual Food Tax Rebate Worth Up to $302 Amid High Inflation Rates, But Deadline Approaches Fast

Starting March 1, Americans have the opportunity to apply for rebates worth up to $302, but they need to act fast as there is a deadline. Many cities and states across the US have offered one-time payments to their residents in response to the high inflation rates experienced in the past year. However, Boulder, Colorado offers an annual rebate to offset taxes paid on food, worth $99 for individuals and $302 for families in 2023.

To apply for this rebate, based on a report by The US SUN on February 27, 2023, applicants must have lived in Boulder for the entire 2022 calendar year and their income must not exceed $43,900 for individuals and $62,700 for a family of four. Additionally, applicants must be 62 years old or older, have a disability, or have children under the age of 18 in their household during 2022. Those without permanent shelter are also eligible for the refund by providing documentation that they are receiving services from a city-recognized homelessness services agency.

Applications will reopen on March 1 and must be received or postmarked by June 30, 2023, to be considered. This is a unique opportunity for Boulder residents to receive an annual rebate, unlike other cities where rebates are one-time only and depend on new legislation being passed. Eligible residents should take advantage of this opportunity and apply before the deadline.
