Officials announced that millions of Americans are about to receive up to $1,500 in direct payments which they started issuing in January.

Millions of Americans are still about direct payments, according to state officials. The amount that residents in Colorado vary. Single filers will get an amount of $750 while those who were jointly filed together will get an amount of $1,500.

In a published article in Mundo Now, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis originally signed a bill into law last May 2022 to provide direct payments to eligible residents in the state. Single filers are supposed to receive $400 while $800 for couples.

However, the amount of direct payments that eligible residents in Colorado received has increased because the state’s revenue surpasses the target cap. Moreover, if you are qualified and filed on June 30, 2022, you should have received your checks on September 30, 2022.

Eligibility for the Direct Payments

The following are the eligibility requirements for direct payments in Colorado:

  •  must be at least 18 years old on or before December 31, 2021
  • must have been Colorado residents for the entire 2021 tax year and have filed a state income tax return for the 2021 tax year or applied for a property tax/rent/heating credit refund.
  • anyone who moved to Colorado in 2022 is not eligible
  • If you were a full-year resident in 2021 and filed your state income tax return, before June 30, 2022, you are still eligible.

Furthermore, the state’s website also suggests that they can go to a financial institution with which they have a relationship. This is for those who want their direct payments to be loaded via phone or ATM.
