After being struck by a car earlier this month, Madison Brooks, a slain LSU student, died “a hero” by giving her kidneys and heart, according to the members of her local sorority chapter.
In the early hours of January 15 in Louisiana’s East Baton Rouge Parish, Brooks, a 19-year-old sophomore, was killed when she was hit by a car. Investigators revealed on Monday that four men, including a 17-year-old, had been detained after two of them allegedly sexually assaulted a drunk Brooks while the other two were present, before dropping her off just before she was struck.
Based on the article published by Fox News on January 25, 2023, the 17-year-old, who has not been identified, and Kaivon Deondre Washington, 18, were specifically accused of third-degree rape. Everett Deonte Lee, Washington’s uncle, who is 28 years old, and Casen Carver, 18, were also charged with being participants in third-degree rape.
LSU’s Alpha Phi chapter said in a statement last week that it was “grieving the sudden and tragic loss of our sister, Madison Brooks, following the accident that took her life” before the charges were made public.
In addition to having a significant impact to everyone, Brooks was a hero who was able to donate her heart and kidneys to help others.
